A certificate of deposit (CD) is a great way to save money. After all, this is not like the stock market. After funds are deposited into a CD, all a person has to do is sit. The joy of such an account is that banks will pay the individual not to touch the money. Thus, people have an incentive for building their savings: CD rates. Making money by saving money is a good situation. However, not all CD rates are created alike. Some will be incredibly high and some will be low.
